The "Lee Heung Soo Distinguished Publication Award" was established in 1998 to invigorate scholarly writing in the field of clothing and textiles.

This award is a tribute to the late Professor Lee Heung Soo, a former professor at Ewha Womans University, and is funded by donations from her family.

Every year, the Korean Society of Clothing and Textiles selects a researcher who published an outstanding academic book in the field of clothing and textiles and awards a plaque and a prize.
